part iii: ☆2 then-now-together
chosen visual assignment, worth two stars: then-now-together
This one was a lot harder than I thought it’d be! But I really wanted to do it, especially since I had seen this image recently, and just so happened to have it saved.
The hardest part of this was getting the lighting right. Even after several hopeless attempts, I still wasn’t able to fully capture the lighting of the scene, or properly edit myself to fit. I needed a light at the top for it to work, and I didn’t have anything that would help on me.
In order to do this, I had to find a wall in my house that would be easy to edit out. Fortunately, our room walls are pretty empty, but my camera didn’t fit far enough for it to show my whole body. So, I used to a stepstool. After taking the picture in the pose I wanted, I put it into Pixlr and edited out the background- something that took me a while to get right!
I needed the picture of me to have an orange-ish tint to it, so I used to an effect to give me that tint. While the end result isn’t perfect, I think with a little more work, I could definitely make it look more real!
